NEXT PROJECTS
Two; just completed an Aussie historical with romance elements titled AN UPCOUNTRY ESTATE. This is a re-plot and rewrite of a completed manuscript. Then, over the rest of winter, I will be working on another sweet romance set in the sheep grazing country of the Western District of Victoria between a sheep farmer and a hippie. So by year's end, I should have three completed novels floating around in various stages of submission.
Meanwhile, I am continuing research into the Middle Ages for planned novels in that era, have completed research on sheep squatters for my first Australian saga in a series covering the early pioneering days in my region from settlement through World War 2, and will continue researching and developing plots for these.
WHAT'S HAPPENING IN MY PART OF THE WORLD
Since June, the first month of our winter season, we have received bucket loads of lovely rain, inches of the stuff, brilliant for local farmers sowing their paddocks (wheat, barley, lentils etc.) for the harvest next summer and an amazing boost to my garden.
I thoroughly enjoyed our lovely 3.5 week sojourn in Europe in April, starting with a few days in Paris, then taking a leisurely two-week cruise on the maiden voyage of the MS Scenic Diamond from Amsterdam down through central Europe on the Rhine, Main and Danube Rivers and canals to Budapest in Hungary. Ending with a casual few days in Prague, Czech Republic. Talk about 5* relaxation. I was just settling into being thoroughly spoilt and we had to think about coming home. Upon our return, we spent a weekend with our oldest married daughter in Melbourne to celebrate our granddaughter's 4th birthday - always a special and noisy event. But now we're happily ensconced again up country in the Wimmera bush and I've resettled to my daily quota of writing.
With typing THE END of my latest novel mss, we're heading off to drive across the border to South Australia, spending the weekend in the Adelaide hills with relations, then driving north to the Barossa Valley wine region for rest of the week at a B&B. Think of me tasting chardonnay, rose and port!!
I've finished knitting a garter square rug and a crocheted design of soft colours with cream edging. Now I have some wool in shades of light and denim blues and cream to make a baby rug for my grandson due in October. Nearly done with that and will start a snowflake rug soon.
Stay for a cuppa and a look around. I always love hearing from you about writing and researching novels, reading books, movies, genealogy...
